“What a rebellious act it is to love yourself naturally in a world of fake appearances.” ― Nikki Rowe
Free = without constraint, constriction, control, limit, limitation, restraint or restriction. Spirit = non-physical, aura, magnetic energy, vibration, soul, source, light, love, peace and joy.
Was this who I was born to be? For sure it is something I have always resonated with. Being a Free Spirit and believing that each and every one of us has the right to be; for, indeed, this is who we are.
To be one with our whole selves, mind, body and spirit in harmony. To be connected to our higher self and yet still be capable of living a human life.
Being purposeful in closing off to others who do not resonate on this wave length; not to be superior in any way, shape or form, but, to allow ourselves to connect with all that ‘we’ are without being grounded in the heavy energy omitted by other earth bound humans. Those not ready to embrace all that they are.
dictionary.cambridge.org/.../english/free-spirit Definition: a person who does what they want with enjoyment and pleasure and does not feel limited by the usual rules of social behaviour.
This ‘territory’ usually comes with immense independence, individuality and unconventionality. It is not an easy journey to make as it takes you away from the ‘norm’ - the orthodox way of being. Knowing from an early age that life is different to what you thought it would be and knowing you are different, that you do not 'fit' in.
Having been born with sun/north node in Libra, Moon/Chiron, Part of Fortune in Aquarius and last but not least Mars in Gemini (all air signs) I’m sure this has made it impossible for me to be anything else.
Being a free spirit means embracing what you want to do and doing it, regardless of other people’s opinions. – Lucy Vinestock
Free spirits embrace different cultures and feel compelled to travel to experience different ways of living. They want to broaden their horizons and are ‘driven’ by a strong will to do so. There is a burning desire, often physically getting itchy feet syndrome.
Selfish? Some like to lay this word heavily on the Free Spirited person; usually jealous of their strong independence. Synonyms are given as self-centred, self-interested, self-seeking. Egocentric, egoistic, egotistic, egotistical. These words also linked to conceited, inconsiderate and vain.
Free spirits know when to be selfish and put themselves first – if something matters to you, pursue it. – Lucy Vinestock.
A Free Spirit is someone who embraces their own self-need before others. In my world, this is someone ready to be there for others but only when they can be; if and when 'they' are in a position to give some support.
Spirit gave me a visual of the wonderful oxygen mask analogy while I was leading a spiritual development class. Before take-off on an aeroplane you are given a safety brief. When the oxygen mask drops down, put your own mask on first – then you will be in the best position to assist others.
Free Spirits - alone but never lonely. Doing what they enjoy doing. Embracing the things in life that make their heart sing.
“I have danced too deeply in my shadows, to ever fear the walk of my sunshine.” ― Nikki Rowe
